Peer Review Process at SSBRJ
The Scientific Societal & Behavioral Research Journal (SSBRJ) employs a rigorous single-blind peer review system to ensure the publication of high-quality research. The entire process, from submission to final decision, typically takes between three to six months.
Step-by-Step Review Workflow
- Initial Submission & Check Authors submit manuscripts in MS Word format via email. The editorial office conducts an initial check for scope alignment, formatting compliance with author guidelines, and plagiarism screening (using similarity detection software). Manuscripts exceeding 15% similarity (40% for conference papers) are returned.
- Editorial Assessment The Editor-in-Chief or assigned Associate Editor evaluates the manuscript's suitability regarding the journal's scope, originality, and basic methodological soundness.
- Reviewer Invitation If the manuscript passes the initial assessment, the editor invites at least two independent, external reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected from the journal's database or academic networks.
- Peer Review Evaluation Reviewers assess the manuscript confidentially based on:
- Originality and significance of the research
- Soundness of methodology and analysis
- Clarity of presentation and writing quality
- Adequacy of literature review and citations
- Validity of conclusions
Reviewers provide detailed comments and a recommendation (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject).
- Editorial Decision The editor consolidates the reviewers' feedback and makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication with minimal or no changes.
- Minor/Major Revision: The manuscript requires specific revisions. Authors receive the reviewers' comments and a deadline for resubmission.
- Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards for publication.
- Author Revision Authors revise their manuscript according to the comments, provide a point-by-point response to reviewers, and resubmit the revised version and a cover letter.
- Final Verification & Acceptance The editor, and sometimes the original reviewers, verify that all revisions are satisfactory. Upon final approval, the manuscript is formally accepted for publication and proceeds to copyediting and production.
